About this deal

But most dangerous of all is a new Dark Jedi, risen from the ashes of a shrouded past, consumed by bitterness…and thoroughly, utterly insane. Pero debo decir que un enemigo así es mucho mejor que el clásico villano, que siempre da menos juego. The thing about Han and Lando is also interesting, in addition to being with them that we learn about The Dark Force, a fleet of 200 armored cruisers operated with very few personnel and that would favor the side of anyone who had it. Some of it is hokey and contrived, some of it is brilliant and inspired, and some of it just seems a bit dated, thanks to Episodes I-III. I’ve read reviews on the first and third book in this series that say there isn’t that stuff in it but I’m having a hard time finding out about book 2.

Audio Note: Just like the first book in the series Marc Thompson narrated as was assisted by a host of well known Star Wars sound effects. The New Republic and the Empire both want the Katana fleet, as the extra two hundred Dreadnoughts may turn the course of the war. Covell had directed literally hundreds of assault campaigns in his years of Imperial service, and he knew full well the awesome capabilities of the fighting machines under his command. However, Dark Force Rising takes whatever potential the series may have had and murders it brutally with a lightsaber to the groin.Maybe it would have worked better if we got inside Thrawn's head this time but it's still the same thing where it's all through the point of view of captain Palleon. What I mean by this is the story is unexpectedly slow in certain chapters that I first disliked as I'm easily bored. Directly beneath the ship, in the western part of the Great Northern Forest of the planet Myrkr, dawn was approaching.

Timothy Zahn attended Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in physics in 1973.Never forget, Captain, that our goal is no longer merely the pitiful rear-guard harassment of the past five years. As everyone re-gathers at Coruscant Karrde’s background makes the clearly corrupt council member Fey’lya hesitate to act on the information, which the smuggler says is costing them time because the Empire have captured his old superior who also knows the Katana Fleet’s location.

I think you have to have seen the Star Wars movies so that you know what Jedi are, but I don't think you have to be one of those people who knows the name of every alien in the Mos Eisley cantina to enjoy the books. While Luke sometimes grated on my nerves by being too goody-two-shoes, a few other characters begun to shine in this book. In preparation for Timothy Zahn's upcoming Star Wars novel Thrawn, I have decided to finally continue reading the beloved Thrawn Trilogy. However, when Thrawn captures Karrde, Mara Jade finds that she once again needs help from Luke, the man she so hates under the belief that he killed her beloved master, Emperor Palpatine, during the Battle of Endor five years earlier. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Once again, Leia gets an interesting subplot, and it works very well as a progression from the first book.

The Thrawn Trilogy, of which this is the second book, set the standard for "non-canon" star wars books and is still among the best in that group. It all climaxes with everyone fighting for the Katana fleet, a battle which our heroes supposedly win, as well as being clued in to some vital information and gaining much needed allies.I definitely think it's the weakest of the triliogy, but even this is still miles better than most Star Wars books. Every time I encounter Thrawn in the Star Wars universe, I’m impressed with how excellent of a villain he is. He gave the readouts a quick check and tapped his comm switch, peripherally aware as he did so that Thrawn had likewise activated his own comm. Looking forward to the final part of the Trilogy, though as already mentioned that’ll be a couple of months away as the new High Republic book is the new top priority in my established sci-fi franchise book reading!
