About this deal

The fact that the manga itself is aware of its oddities despite its genre provides the basis for the humour to shine and that's what makes it so enjoyable. I am fine with reading about morally questionable topics as long as they are treated with sensitivity; there are shown to be consequences for the negative actions (and the author shows awareness that it was messed up); and/or the execution is thought-provoking or interesting. Aiki Hirose ( 広瀬 愛貴, Hirose Aiki ) Voiced by: Junko Takeuchi (audio drama) [3] Nakamura's classmate, and his unrequited love interest. That comic, a one shot that was published in the December 2014 issue of Opera, would become the first chapter of Go For It, Nakamura!

Plot [ ] "Nakamura is a shy boy who falls in love at first sight with one of his classmates–his dreamy high school classmate, Hirose. For some, the themes might be a breath of fresh air, but I’ve read so many works with LGBT+ themes that this one felt dated and stale.

The official translation of the manga might or might've not been posted there, this is extremely useful for wiki editors like me to see the proper translation. New classmates such as Kawamura Hifumi, Oomori, and Tamura Arandou would be introduced as the series goes on, indirectly helping on Nakamura's journey. The series was praised for its 1980s-reminiscent artwork, [13] [14] with Sean Gaffney of Manga Bookshelf favorably comparing it to Ranma ½ and Kimagure Orange Road. The humor was the wrong kind of ridiculous for me, and that’s coming from someone who has a flair for the bombastic.

By the end of 2014, Syundei was contacted by the managing editor of Opera to draw a comic to fill empty spaces in an issue of a magazine. There's also a very candid moment at the end of the manga between Hirose and Nakamura and I can't wait to read Motto Ganbare! Overall, I do think there should be more queer stories about “a guy with a crush”, as they can be relatable for many readers (just DEFINITELY not me). During this first attempt to make contact, an instinctive mistake turns the idea of friendship into a distant dream, as he creates a hilarious impression on his crush. Changes mid-story for the first few chapters, then the initial narrative is dropped altogether in the last part of the book.
